Neogea Geography

Neogea is a large dagger-shaped island that stretches West to East.
The rounded “hilt” of the island, located at Western-most point,
is mainly a arid desert known as “The Burning West”.
Along the Eastern edge of the desert is a strip of sandy plains
that lay across the roots of both the Pale Twins mountains and the Pyris Irae volcano.
Between those two mounts lays a canyon known as the Brittlestone Highway,
which connects the thick forests of the Midlands to The Burning West.
The Southern-most section of the Midlands, located between Pyris Irae and Wyvern’s Ire,
is an unstable volcanic region called The Ember Fields.
The Ember Fields gives way to the fauna of the Feral Lands,
which continue northwards between The Pale Twins and Wyvern’s Ire all the way to the coast.
At the eastern feet of the Pale Twins is a region of wetlands named the Scarlet Fang Swamp by the locals. This swamp also extends to the northen coast, becoming a saltwater marsh.
The mountain range of Wyvern’s Ire extends all the way from the southern coast to the northern,
dividing the Feral Lands from the Tilted Plains. The northernmost tip Wyvern’s Ire contains a jagged chasm formed by a massive emerging river, the “Weeping Fall” due to local folklore.
The Tilted Plains gradually narrows from the width of Wyvern’s Ire Eastward to the cliff-point at Ehlonna’s Refuge. On the northern edge, next to the foothills of Wyvern’s Ire,
there is the large “Bronze Bay”. This is the lowest point of the Tilted Plains, at sea level, and the altitude gradually increases as you head south to the rocky Cliffs of Twilight and the Smoldering Marsh. Although mainly open fields and gentle hills, there are two major forests: the Forest of Obadhai along the roots of Wyvern’s Ire and the one of Ehlonna’s Refuge.
